Changes
of the layout/design on the packaging 10 Dec, 2004

During week 50-51 the layout/design of packaging for Elpress manual
crimp tools will be changed to the better. The tools are packed as you
can see from above photo and can be used in hangcells. For storage an
outer packaging in card box paper will be supplied.
Assortment boxes 10 Dec, 2004
Boxes SD0515TWIN, SD0725TWIN and SD1560TWIN sell in extremely low
volumes and have been removed from the active range of products. This
means that we sell out what we have in stock.

Lengths
of deep earthing rods 25 May, 2004
WHAT WAS
THE PROBLEM?
We have over the latest years had quite a lot of complaints over the 1
m length of the deep earthing rods FS21, FS31, FSHD23 and FSHD31.
When working with heavy gasoline / pneumatic / hydraulic or electric
hammers the initial working height may create quite a difficult work
position and eventually even work damage risks.
WHAT’S NEW NOW?
We therefore now introduce the earlier special length of 0.8 m as new
standard length for all the rods mentioned above. This will meet the
strong requirements from many end users.
WHEN CAN WE SUPPLY?
The existing stock of 1 m lengths will be sold out and the new lengths
will then be supplied automatically to the same part numbers. We estimate
the old types to be obsolete sometime from mid May to June 04 depending on
type.
FURTHER ACTIONS
We plan an updated product pamphlet for the deep earthing material to be
released in August and the changes above will of course appear there as
well as in the new product catalogues now being in the pipeline.
Product
update KRF/KSF 240 mm², 300 mm² and 400 mm 25 May, 2004
Elpress
product type KRF/KSF which can be used together with both stranded
and flexible copper conductors has been updated and changed concerning
measures of three tube dimensions. This changes has been made on the
nominal sizes of 240 mm², 300 mm² and 400 mm². The purpose is to improve
fitness to actual conductor diameters and also crimping results. New
dimensions of tubes has been used in product manufacturing from week 0332.
The changing will not affect unique product types or special solutions for
instance “Trafo”.
KRF/KSF 240A, New designation
New inner diameter will be nominal 22.5 mm, outer diameter 29 mm. Standard
terminal palm wide will then be nominal 42 mm. This change will not
affect the use of crimping tools. Same dies as before shall be used.
Marking of product barrels will be 30 as before.
KRF/KSF 300A, New designation
New inner diameter will be nominal 24.5 mm, outer diameter 31.5 mm.
Standard terminal palm wide will then be nominal 45 mm. This change
will not affect the use of crimping tools. Same dies as before shall
be used. Marking of product barrels will be 32 as before.
KRF/KSF 400A, New designation
No change of inner diameter, nominal 30 mm. New outer diameter will be 38
mm. Standard terminal palm wide will then be nominal 56 mm. This change
will affect the use of crimping tools. New dies to use are
named 14B38 for V1400 system (25B38 for V2500 system). Marking of product
barrels will be 38.
Make two crimps.
KRF16 -
- Change from August 2003 01 Jul, 2003
The total
length for KRF16-6 and -8 has gone from 33 (+/-1)mm to 34 (+/-1)mm. The
measure front end - hole centre has changed from earlier 7 (+/-1)mm to
present 8 (+/-0,5)mm. The new measure for the palm length for KRF16-10 is
21 (+/-0,5)mm. Earlier this measure was 22 (+/-0,5)mm.
Receptacle with tongue rolled type 13 Mar, 2003

All FLSN-types are replaced with alternate model, as the earlier
has been discontinued. Difference is two springslots and other neck
grooves. Fully compatible with earlier.
Tabs for
soldering 17127 and 17128, cat. page 3.11 03 Jan, 2003
Please
notice that there is a printing error in the data for the above products:
the cc-dimension should be 5.0 mm and not
6.2 mm as said in the catalogue.
Chamfered edges 05 Mar, 2002

Copper terminal lugs and connectors from 50 mm² and up have until
now had rather sharp outer edges at the entries. These edges have
sometimes caused problems for example when heat shrinking insulation
sleeves over the crimp. Elpress is now as far as we know the first to have
introduced chamfered entries also on the outside and the new smooth design
solves these problems. This update does not influence on other properties
and we have therefore kept the previous product designations.
Update
of Elpress pre-insulated rings and forks 12 Feb, 2002

For many years there has been a discussion if the straight sides of the
pre-insulated rings is an advantage or a disadvantage in practical use and
in perception of the product. In order to meet requirements of having
round rings Elpress have decided to change the rings and forks (which come
from the same mother-tools). The changes in actual outer (build-in)
measures are in almost all cases very nominal and should in most cases not
bring any problems in use. The main measures (old and new) are found in
the attached tables. This change is, because of tool rebuild, gradually
being introduced. The red and blue rings are already in production (June
2001) and yellow rings are introduced during the autumn 2001. Some red
forks are also started and the others will follow directly after the
yellow rings to be finished during 2002.

001
substituted by SCT001 01 Feb, 2002

Corresponding catalogue page 9.4 in the new English and German catalogues.
We have invested in new production tooling for the good old
cutter/stripper 001 and at the same time a few updates are made
regarding material, marking and packaging.
Therefore and to bring the product designation in line with other tools in
the Elpress range this tool will in the future be referred to as the
SCT001.
Time plan
The up-dated version will be available from Elpress stock from end
February 2002.
Box-type
receptacles (push-on terminals) 09 Jan, 2002
Catalogue page 3.6-3.7 and 1.7 English and German catalogues. Due to
decreasing sales over long time Elpress will during 2002 on an individual
basis discontinue manufacture and sales of receptacles of so called
box-type (see catalogue, product designations ending with FLP). The
receptacles in question are replaced by the corresponding rolled types
(designations ending with FLS). The individual change will take place
subject to supply and demand. At the same time a new FLS-article is
introduced (B1507FLSN) that earlier did not have a corresponding FLP-type.
P6000 /
P6000DB English catalogue page 8.34 08 Jan, 2002

Some time ago we were informed that a number of basic components in our
battery operated pumps P6000 and P6000DB would no longer be available. We
then estimated that our existing stock would cover sales during year 2002.
Unexpected high sales during last part of 2001 however, now force us to
inform you that we are totally sold out and we therefore have to
discontinue these items from our active range of products. This does of
course not influence on supply of accessories and spare parts. We are
working hard on the next generation of this product and we estimate to be
able to come back to you on this subject towards the end of this year.
KRF300-xx and KRF400-xx measures, page 4.6 in cat. 10 Aug, 2001
Terminal
palm measures and consequently total lengths have been slightly altered
due to production tooling updates in accordance with the following:
Terminal KRF300-xx N 22 mm, N1 31 mm, L 115 mm, KRF400-xx N 22
mm, N1 33 mm, L 124 mm. The change takes place from June 2001 and the
products will be supplied in the updated version as soon as possible old
stocks are sold out.
Comfortable handles on the D-tools 20 Apr, 2001

Elpress D-Series of crimp tools have got new ergonomic handles with softer
inlays on the upper handle. The slightly higher friction towards the inlay
as well as the new shape and hardness result in a considerably increased
working comfort and the tool is perceived to be more “easy-to-work-with”.
Supply starts in March 2001.
Change
regarding 90° push-on terminals 20 Apr, 2001
These
terminals (cat. pages 3.7-8) with suffixes –FLSB and –FLPB have had very
low consumption and we have to discontinue those with lowest turnover.
Hence the following types will no more be available (when stock is empty):
B1505FLPB5, B1505FLPB8 and B2507FLPB8 and at the same time the
corresponding crimp tools T2260 and T2261. The B1507FLSB8 will remain and
should be crimped with the new TRB0515B tool.
New
catalogue information on end terminals 20 Apr, 2001
In Elpress
catalogues chapter 2 a few pieces of information have been updated. Most
important is that the colours of some insulation sleeves are changed to
ivory for code W 10mm² violet for code T 0.25 mm² rose
for code T 0.34 mm² white for code T 16 mm²
New
hobby crimpers - T50, T51 and T52 23 Mar, 2001

The earlier Elpress hobby tools 50, 51 and 52 are not manufactured any
more due to worn out production tools. The new tools, that have a T in
front of the designating number, have the same functions and also more
comfortable handles. From March 2001 they will be supplied in a new
transparent, hard plastic box.
